I never thought I would have to pretend to be someone's wife and mother, but that's what happened today when I took a cab and met some VIO officers on the road. They wanted to see an ID card from the cab driver that showed he was using his car for commercial purposes only.
The cab driver was scared and told them that I was his wife and he was taking me to the hospital. They asked us to get out of the car and kiss to prove our marriage.

I was surprised but I played along and said that we were married but I didn't like kissing in public. The cab driver then added that I was pregnant and he needed to take me for an urgent procedure. He showed them his phone where he had saved my number as "my love" and called me "baby" when he phoned me.
The VIO officers still impounded the car with me inside, while the cab driver crossed the road and begged them to let us go. After about 30 minutes of pleading, they finally released us and we didn't have to pay them anything.
He thanked me profusely for being his fake wife and mother of his child. He even sent me a text when I got home, saying that he was grateful for how I helped him.
It was a crazy cab ride that I will never forget.
