Idowu had earlier confronted and threatened Kuti at the international airport, saying he would harm him if he saw him in Chicago. Kuti, who turned 40 in January, had travelled abroad for a show when he encountered Idowu, who claimed to be a fan of his father, the late Fela Kuti.

However, in a new video, Idowu seemed to have changed his mind and pleaded with Kuti to forgive him. He also said he was responsible if anything happened to Kuti in Chicago, implying that he had some connections there.

He added that if the attack came from him, he was ready to face the consequences.

The video has sparked reactions from social media users, who commented on Idowu's behaviour.
